Working Waterfront
Resource Guide

Created to get resources into the hands of those preserving the function and vibrancy of Maine’s working waterfronts.

The Working Waterfront Resource Guide is a direct response to the need expressed to us at MCFA for a comprehensive list of the resources available to working waterfronts and commercial fishing businesses so they can continue to preserve, fund, and work on Maine’s coastal working waterfronts.

Resources range from those addressing the preservation of working waterfront uses and the conservation of land and water resources, to those aimed at making engineering, construction, and resilience work more accessible, to those supporting financial viability, economic development, and innovation on the waterfront. Individuals, businesses, organizations, and municipalities can all find resources to support their work included in the guide.

The guide is meant to be a living document, consistently updated by MCFA to reflect changes and incorporate new opportunities. If you know of a resource that supports working waterfronts and isn’t currently listed in the guide, please reach out to emerson@mainecoastfishermen.org to make sure it’s included in our next update.
