New Collaboration

Fishermen love rope, and so does Mae in Maine, who partnered with MCFA to make a unique gathering basket for our online store.

The handcrafted rope and thread Evergreen Gathering Bucket is perfect for the coming summer to free your hands while exploring or harvesting. From collecting shells on a cool morning walk on the beach to picking up seafood from the local shop, this gathering bucket has you covered.

Seaspiracy: A seafood response

Seaspiracy not just questions the idea of sustainable fishing, but suggests it's a myth and conspiracy.

Not surprisingly, we disagree! To put some context to the film and to share what it got right, wrong, and really, really, really wrong, MCFA  convened a panel of experts to share their thoughts on the film.

The panel included: Jes Hathaway, National Fisherman; Michael Conathan, Fisheries Policy Expert; Barton Seaver, chef and seafood educator; and, MCFA's executive director Ben Martens. WATCH
