Mainers are the best folks to be around: no drama llamas, funny as heck, hardy, thrifty,
generous, and independent. All these wonderful qualities, which our fishermen embody
especially, can come at a cost when it comes to taking care of ourselves; even more so when
pursuing preventative health care.
In the face of rising costs of *everything,* getting to the doctor’s office for a blood pressure check, a set of labs, or even the early stages of bait poisoning can seem like more trouble than it’s worth. Often, just getting the appointment scheduled eats up precious hours of daylight as we hustle to get food on the table. Navigating the current healthcare system, especially if you or your employees are uninsured or under-insured, can be too complicated and costly.
Enter an exciting movement building in Maine: Direct Primary Care, or DPC. It offers what
Mainers need and deserve: distilled healthcare delivery, not dictated by insurers who haven’t
spent a day in the office or hospital.
More info about DPC in Maine can be found HERE.
Direct primary care clinics exist throughout Maine and offer low-cost membership-based primary
care. For close to the cost of cable TV, patients have:
Well child and adult preventative visits
Acute illness care
Chronic illness management (e.g. high blood pressure, diabetes)
Mental health support (e.g. anxiety, depression, and addiction)
Direct access to your physician by phone, email, and text
Same- and next-day office appointment scheduling
Low-barrier Telehealth options for people on the go
Home visits when needed
In-office procedures
Lab testing at a fraction of the cost of typical co-pays.
We also partner with small businesses to provide common sense healthcare for their employees, all at a fraction of the usual cost.
Each DPC office is structured differently. At Maine Street Medical, PLLC, in Brunswick, our
physicians carry multiple board-certifications: Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Lifestyle
Medicine. Our passion is in relationship-based medical care that meets people where they’re at
on the road towards their best version of self and health. This is something every Mainer
deserves and it is possible. We are accepting new patients of all ages and can’t wait to meet
you.
